VB-G RAM G Scheme West Bengal: New Job Guarantee Scheme from 1st July to Replace MGNREGA

We are all aware of the VB-G RAM G Scheme, which is the centralised scheme. The official complete Name of VB-G RAM G is Viksit Bharat Guarantee For Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission. Now this scheme is officially implemented in West Bengal also from 1st July 2026. This is the scheme which is also know with other name, i.e. 125 Day Job Scheme. In the state of West Bengal, this scheme was again started in the state after four years. Because after March 2022, the central Government not releasing the funds for this State for the MGNREGA scheme, in which 100 days job days given to beneficiaries. 

• In the state of West Bengal, this VB-G RAM G reopened after four years and officially rolled out from 1st July 2025.
• Now the people of the Gramin area will get 125 Days Job under the scheme.
• From March 2022, the Union Government of India stopped providing funds for this scheme; at the time, the name of the scheme was MGNREGA.
• For the Financial Year 2026-27, Rs.14,000 crore was allocated to West Bengal to provide the 125-day job under this scheme.

WE all know that the Central Government scheme, i.e., the MGNREGA scheme, is providing guaranteed work to the people who live in rural areas. In which every eligible household will get 100 days guarantee work every year. In the state of West Bengal, there are almost 5 crore families who live in rural areas. But in 2022, the MGNREGA scheme stopped due to receiving the funds.

But now the MGNREGA scheme has been replaced with the new scheme, i.e. VB-G RAM G, and the same is also implemented in the state of West Bengal after four years. With the new name, officials also used the new technology for the scheme for transparency of the funds released for this scheme. Now the people of the state, after four year going to get the benefits of this new scheme.

Not only the technology but the government also increased the employment Days from 100 to 125 days, with a hike in wages given to them.

Which individuals get 125 days guaranteed work?

• Any person who lives in West Bengal’s Rural area.
• An individual can attain their 18th birthday at the time of applying.
• All applicants must be willing to do unskilled work.
• Every 18-year-old person will get 125 days of work in the scheme.
• You will also have a VB-G RAM G Job Card.

What Documents Required to be Submitted?

You don’t get direct work in the scheme; the Gram Panchayat of your area will verify your eligibility based on documents.

• Aadhaar Card for the KYC and personal identification of the applicant.
• Rural area Residence proof, i.e. Ration Card
• Your active and KYC-complete bank account details.
• Photograph of all adult family members in passport size.

How to Get Work Under VB-G RAM G?

Anyone who wants to get 125 days of work under this new scheme of West Bengal, then the process is given below:-

• Write the application manually with your Name to get work in this scheme, and also submit your Job Card details ( Old card can be used) and submit to your Gram Panchayat Office.
• If you want to submit an online application for work, then you have to visit its official portal and then submit your work.
• You can also use the UMANG APP for your work to get work.
• After 15 days of work clock starting from the submission of your application date, you get the receipt for the work.
• But if, by chance, after 15 days of submission of the application form, you did not get employment, then the Gram Panchayat will allow you to pay you an unemployment allowance.

West Bengal VB-G RAM G Job Cards

• So if you already have the MGNREGA Job card or old Job card, then you do not need to apply again for the new Job card.
• All the Job Cards have already transfer in the new system after verification.
• If you want to know about your Card Transfer in the new system, then you have to approach your Local Panchayat Office and bring your linked Aadhaar card at the time of your visit.
• But if you are new, then submit the Fresh application form available in both languages, i.e. Bengali and English, obtained the same from Gram Panchayat.
• Fill this form with all the information and documents and then submit it in the same office.
• The local Gram Panchayat complete the EKYC Verification.
• After completing your eKYC Verification, within 15 days, you will get the Digital Job Card in your name and then demand work.
