So when women travel using the public buses, the conductor checks their Aadhaar Card and issues them Zero Tickets. But sometimes Zero Tickets are misused by them.

What is West Bengal Free Travel Scheme For Women?

To attract the women voters of West Bengal state, the government made many promises to them, i.e. if they win the election in the state, they will provide the facilities of free travel, and there is also another scheme, i.e., the Annapurna Scheme, in which the government provide them monthly financial assistance. Both scheme officially now roll out by the government.

One scheme provides monthly financial support to eligible women, and in this scheme, women, i.e. students, workers, or any other women who travel, will get free travel on public transport. By rolling out this scheme, the state government help to save their money, which they can all use for travel expenses.

What is WB Pink Card?

• Official Identification: An Aadhaar Card can be used by anyone, and there is no way to save the calculation of the Zero Tickets daily. So this Pink Card is the digital Card which can be used by eligible women as their officially beneficiaries identity card. So that they can use this card for their travel in any of the government-operated buses for small or long distances. This scheme will add the travel history of the women. At the time of travel, women will need to carry this Card and then tap the card at the vending machine of the conductor. Then, just tapping the Card on the vending machine, your name and travel history are automatically added.
• Maintain Transparency: To provide the benefits of this scheme, the government wants to identify the genuine women beneficiaries. That’s why the government chose this card. Because this scheme is only going to provide the same facilities who really have financial barriers in their life.

Requirement For Card

To get this card online or offline, you have to complete its requirements by submitting proof of your need for the card.

• Women’s Identity Card, i.e., Aadhaar Card.
• For Housing proof, submit your Voter Card.
• Photograph, which must be clear, coloured and in passport size.
• For completing registration and new updates, submit your active phone number.

How to Get this West Bengal Pink Card?

There are two modes to get this card: one is online, and the other is offline. You can choose the way that is easy for you.

Online Mode

• Need to open the concerned official portal of the State Government of West Bengal.
• After opening the home page of the portal, the Pink card option available.
• All new female visitors need to sign up and create their account using their personal details and number.
• Sign in to your account and upload documents one by one with the form and review your form.
• Submit the documents with the form. The department verifies your details with supporting documents.
• Beneficiaries also receive the approval massage in the phone number, and you can download the card or digital Card also delivered to your given address.

Offline Mode

If you decide to choose the offline option, then you have to collect the form from:

• BDO Office
• Municipality Offices.

After collecting the form, fill it and attach photocopies of self-attested documents. You can submit documents by hand in the same office.
