Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Polytechnic Courses (Age Criteria)
- Polytechnic admission in 1st Year: There is no upper age criteria required. Candidate date of Birth should not be after 01-July 2011.
- In case of taking admission in the 2nd Year of polytechnic, there is no age limit required.
ITIs Admission (Age Criteria)
- Minimum Age Limit is 14 years as on 1st August 2026. It means that you have to be born before 1st August 2012.
- There is no Upper age limit.
Qualification Required (Polytechnic)
- Admission in 1st Year:- Passed Madhyamik or Class 10th or equivalent for any recognised board.
- Admission in 2nd Year: For 2nd year, applicants should pass the 12th Board exam with subjects like Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, etc.
Qualification (ITIs)
- E Group: Pass 8th class or equlivant form the school located in West Bengal
- M Group: Pass 10th class from a recognised board in West Bengal

TETSD CAP Portal Registration Steps
The registration process will start from the portal admission-tetsd.wb.gov.in. For Polytechnic /ITI Counselling, visit scvtwb.in. It is dependent upon the admission year.
- On the home page, check the admission notification and check which course registration is open,
- Now choose the option New Registration and fill the basic details in the form (Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile number, etc.)
- After submission and verification, you will get login credentials. Login in with these details and you will reach the student dashboard.
- Now start filling the application forms with details like academic details, Category, complete address, etc.
- Upload all the documents’ scanned copies, one by one. The sizeand formant of fileshould be same mentuioed on portal. Pay the application fee.
- Now fill the couse ame, collage choice according to your preference. Submit your form online before the last date.
