With the collaboration of the State Government, the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises implemented the PM Vishwakarma Yojana in the state of West Bengal. This scheme is launched for the empowerment of the traditional local artisans and craftsmen of the state. By implementing this scheme in the state, the government support them to enhance their earnings for better livelihoods, improve their quality of life, and they can also enhance their skills. Not only this, but the government is also going to provide them market support by launching this scheme in the state.

Under the West Bengal Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana, women artisans who are working in 18 trades will be eligible to get the benefits of the scheme. In this scheme, various kinds of benefits like enhanced skill training, tool kits, interest free loan etc will be given to the beneficiaries.

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme is a scheme that was launched by the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises on 17 September 2023. Under this scheme, the government provides support to all the local and traditional artisans and craftsmen. Government variously provide their support like they provide them with skill training, tool kits and collateral-free loans.

And now this scheme has officially rolled out in the state of West Bengal to support all the women artisans of the state. After implementing this scheme in the state total 7.79 Traditional Artisans who are already registered in the state are going to get the benefits of the scheme.

Govt distributed the following Benefits

  • Collateral-Free Loan: In this scheme, the registered artisans will get the loan upto Rs.3 Lakhs.
  • Skill Training: Not only this, but the government also provides skill training, which is 5 to 7 basic and 15 days of advance training to every beneficiary, and during training time, beneficiaries receive a stipend amount of Rs.500/-.
  • Modern Tool Kits: Additional Financial benefits will also be given to the eligible beneficiaries of Rs.15,000 in the form of a digital voucher to buy the modern tool kits once you complete the basic training.
  • Certificate and ID Card: To establish the credibility of the artisans, the government also provide the PM Vishwakarma Scheme certificate and official ID card.

Eligibility For Artisans

  • West Bengal artisans must be at least 18 years old at the time of applying.
  • Artisans must be working with their hands and tools and also engaged with any one of the 18 trades covered in this scheme.
  • Applicant also belongs to the unorganised sector and is doing the same at their self-employment level.
  • From every family, only one family member with the above eligibility can apply for the benefits of the scheme.
  • Applicant is not a government employee of the state and central government.

  • For Biometric Authentication Aadhar Card of the beneficiaries is required and can be used as an identification certificate.
  • Mobile Number linked with the Aadhaar Card for OTP Verification while completing the registration.

How to Get Benefits Under PM Vishwakarma Scheme West Bengal?

To obtain benefits from this newly launched scheme, you have to follow the application process and then apply for it.

  • Need to open the Official Website of the Vishwakarma Yojana, i.e. pmvishwakarma.gov.in. Kindly apply through the Common Service Centre of your area.
  • Now have to click on the Login option and then choose the CSC login
  • Then log in to the CSC centre using your credentials.
  • Then the officials of the centres register the applicants using their Aadhaar Card-linked mobile number of Artisans and then verify by sending the one-time password.
  • CSC Centre Officials Perform the Authentication of Aadhaar using Biometrics.
  • After completing the Aadhaar authentication,   fill the registration form using the personal details and category details.
  • Now have to enter the contact details by entering the active mobile number, Aadhaar Card Number and PAN Card Number also.
  • According to the Ration card, it is also important to submit the Family details with Address details.
  • Here, provide the information about the Trade of the applicant.
  • Fill in the Bank account details with Bank account number, Bank Branch Name, IFSC Code, etc.
  • Upload the checklist with the form and then submit all the information.

  • The government always ensure to provide the benefits only to genuine people. So they want to maintain transparency; now a strict verification process is also followed by the government.
  • Verification to identify the beneficiaries is made at the Gram Panchayat Level in rural areas and Urban Local Body Level in urban areas.
