To enhance transparency in the financial transactions of Gram Panchayats, the West Bengal government introduced the Sahaj Saral portal. The services of this portal were already started in April. This portal helps to maintain financial audits in Gram Panchayats, Gram Samitis and Zila Parishad. This will be more advances and accure as comaired to older one. Previously, the Gram Panchayat audits were initiated through the two-forest portal. The Gram Panchayat Management portal system is only used for financial auditing in Gram Panchayats.
Sahaj Saral WB Portal
After the launch of the Sahaj Saral Portal West Bengal, all three-level Panchayats can easily use it. This will be used to upload the financial transaction details of Panhayat saminities and Zila Parishads. This is A accounting based portal and helping to mainting uniform accounting system in three level of panchayats. It will help at the time of Panchayat audits. Initially, the WB Sahaj Saral portal was launched on 1st April in Malda District. After launch, workers of 150 Gram Panchayats and 15 Panchayat Samitis have been trained. After completing the 1st phase, the 2nd phase will start, and workers from Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zila Parishad from Malda Sadar will be trained.

The Sahaj Saral Portal is an online accounting software made by the Department of Panchayat and Rural Development. This portal helps to record the money that is coming in and going out of panchayats. It is a uniform accounting system across the three levels of panchayats, like Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zilla Parishad. It is also helping to stop revenue leakage. When panchayats deal in cash, there may be a chance of cash leakage. To stop this and stop corruption, handwritten receipts will be replaced by digital receipts.

Panchayat Staff and officials use this portal for daily work:-
- Use for entering receipt vouchers, like money received such as Taxes and fees, and also verified by the officials
- Entering the payment vouchers Like Money spend.
- Helps in maintaining the Cashbook and Other accounts. The system helps in updating these automatically from the voucher.
- Helping to generate the audit report and monitoring.

- For easily login you have to visit on the portal wbpms.in/sahajsaral.
- This page shows the Department of Panchayats and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal.
- Select your role to log in. In Zilla Parishad, the Additional Executive Officer; in Panchayat Samiti, the Executive Officer; and in Gram Panchayat, the Executive Assistant act as administrators.
- They can lgin on this portal by Dredentails make by office admins. An ordinary person cannot login on this portal or can not do a new signup.

WB Sahaj Saral Portal Launch Date
Officially, this portal was started on 1st April 2025 from Malda District. In phase one, 150 Gram Panchayats and 15 Panchayat Samitis were trained to use this portal. Online there is no information about the other districts roll out date.
