In every project of this housing scheme, a total of 16 flats in one block with a G+3 building are going to be constructed.  And then allocation of these housing units will be given to the eligible beneficiaries through the draw system to maintain transparency.

Aim to Launch this Scheme

WB government always has the aim to provide ownership-based property to the needy people of the state. In this scheme also, people who belong to the low-income group and middle-income group will get ownership-based housing units in the shape of Flats at an affordable rate. In this scheme, the Government of West Bengal is going to provide residential land without including its cost in the housing unit total price.

Flats Category According to Income

There are two types of income category individual are covered under in this scheme, i.e. LIG means Low Income Group and the other is MIG, i.e. Middle Income Group. So the housing units will also be given according to their income category.

Cost and Price of Flats

The price or cost of the flats depends on the area where the flats are going to be constructed. It also depends on land availability, development cost, the current rate of construction cost and the area where the flats are going to be built.

What is the eligibility Criteria of the scheme?

All families or applicants who are interested in applying under this scheme, then they need to qualify the following eligibility conditions of the scheme.

• If you belong to the LIG income group, then your monthly salary must be Rs.15,000 or less than it from all sources.
• For the Middle Income group, the monthly income must be less than Rs.30,000/-.
• Families can be permanently residing in the state of West Bengal.
• There is no pucca house or flat available in the name of the applicant or any of his family members.
• You can be an inhabitant of the district of the state where the housing project is going to be implemented.
• From each of the family, only one applicant can apply for only one housing unit in this scheme.
• If you have already got the flats in this scheme, then you are not able to apply again for other housing projects going to be implemented in any other district of the state.

• LIG or MIG Income Certificate of the applicant must be original and issued by the competent authority.
• Photograph in passport size.
• Affidavit and declaration certificate by the applicant.
• Voter Card copy
• Aadhaar Card of the applicant.
• Address proof of the state, like a Bonafide or Domicile certificate
• Bank account number or first page copy.

West Bengal Nijashree Housing Scheme Application Process

• The application process for this scheme is totally offline.
• So you just need to collect the application form from the Scheme Brochure when available on the official website of the West Bengal Housing Department portal.
• You can also obtain the application form from the District Magistrate’s office or through Sub Division Officers.
• Then fill this form and, along with documents, submit the same. You are also required to submit the application fee along with the documents at the same branch where you get the application form. 

Selection or Allocation of Flats

All the eligible families who submit their application form to be a part of the scheme, then the selection of the beneficiaries can be made through a transparent mode. This means a draw will be conducted by the District or Sub-Division of the same area. If the number of beneficiaries is more than the number of Flats, then the waiting list for the beneficiaries will also be prepared by the government.
