With the big announcement, the West Bengal Government implemented their scheme in favour of Tea Garden worker of the scheme. The scheme is introduced with its official title, i.e. West Bengal Tea Worker Welfare Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana). They not only announced this scheme but also Rs.313 crore for the welfare of the targeted beneficiaries. This scheme provide the Healthcare facilities Education and going to fulfil the basic needs of the workers and their families. The scheme provides its benefits in North Bengal.

This scheme have its another name, Pradhan Mantri Shramik Protsahan Yojana. This scheme has its sub-schemes like Education State, Health Scheme, Resting scheme. By implementing this scheme, the tea garden workers belonging to North Bengal will get proper health care services, education for their kids, etc. So here Below get sub schemes details.

• Tea Garden Worker Education Scheme: To provide quality education to the kids of the tea workers, the government also improve the infrastructure of the educational institute. So, an amount of Rs.177 Crore use for it.
• Tea Garden workers Health Care Scheme: Among Rs.313 Crore, 72 Crore rupees is going to be used to upgrade all the health care facilities of the state. The medical services are robust in the area of tea gardens.
• West Bengal Tea Garden worker Ashray Yojana: Amount, i.e. 63 Crore, is going to be used for the construction of 321 resting sheds. In which 88 resting shed going to be constructed in Hills area and 233 in the plain area.

This scheme is centre government scheme and provides its benefits in Assam and now in West Bengal also to the Tea Garden workers. What is the motive to launch the scheme?

The scheme provides multiple benefits to all the selected beneficiaries for overall development. The budget that is released at the time of rolling out the scheme is used to improve the health care and medical facilities in the area of the tea garden and to boost the educational infrastructure. This all kind of development is made in the tea garden area, i.e. North Bengal. Because in this area, the workers face difficulties in getting proper education and health facilities from the government for them and for their family members.

Points of Scheme to Know

• Targeted People: Only the Tea Garden workers who work in the Tea Garden area, i.e. North Bengal, are the targeted people.
• Budget allocation: A total of 313 Crore rupees has already been announced to spend on the overall development of the beneficiaries.
• North Bengal Area: Only Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri, which are known as the Tea Garden area of North Bengal.

• All the registered workers of the state who work in North Bengal tea gardens.
• Temporary or permanent work of the applicant must be as a Tea Garden worker.
• At the time of applying, the applicant and their family members must be registered with the office of the same area.
• It is important for all the beneficiaries that if they want to receive benefits for their family members also, then they also have to register all the members with the concerned official’s office.
• Kids of the Tea Garden worker who are enrolled in all the government or government-affiliated schools of the North Bengal area will be eligible to receive the educational Benefits.

How to receive the benefits of the WB Tea Garden Worker Welfare Scheme?

The process can be completed only through offline mode. Because no online dedicated portal available. To avail the benefits of any sub-scheme, like for medical Facilities or for educational purposes, you can apply only offline with the help of the local Management Department.

Step 1: If you are a new tea garden worker and have not registered yourself and your family members with the department, then register yourself and your family members with your proper documents.

Step 2: Once you are registered as a Tea Garden Worker as a registered employee, then you get your Registered Employee ID Card as a Tea Garden worker.

Step 3: Now you have to visit the local North Bengal Development Department of the State to collect the form for Medical services or for Educational Benefits.

Step 4: After getting the appropriate form for your use, fill it out and then fill the application form.

Step 5: Submit your form with the prepared documents and submit to the official authority.
