New Government, new changes made in West Bengal State. Here, they announced a new scheme called the Kanyaratna Scheme in West Bengal, replacing the Old scheme implemented by the former government, i.e., the Kanyashree Scheme. This scheme is going to be rolled out all over the state of West Bengal from next year, i.e. 2027. In this Kanyaratna Scheme, beneficiaries must be girl children of the state, and she is going to receive the financial aid of Rs.2,000/-. In the Previous Kanyashree Scheme, the amount distributed by the former government was only Rs.1,000/-. So with the new Name, the amount of the scheme is also new. Get the complete information.

Kanyaratna Scheme
Now the West Bengal state has also joined the biggest Educational Program of the country, i.e. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Program and announced a financial aid scheme for the school girls of the state. In this scheme, every eligible girls going to get the 2,000 rupees aid from the coming new year in 2027. This scheme replaces and renames the old Kanyashree Scheme of the State, and the amount will also be doubled compared to the previous amount. The announcement of this scheme was made by the Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari.

At the time of announcement CM Minister also said that this year the financial assistance of Rs.1,000 will be given to the eligible school girls as a one-time annual support. But the double amount of Rs.2,000 will be given from next year annually. This year, a total of 20.13 lakh girls will get this annual financial support of Rs.1,000 in their accounts. And the total budget required to distribute the benefits to the beneficiaries is Rs 400 Crore.

Features of Scheme
- Annual Financial Support: Now the every year, the eligible school girls will get Rs.2,000 from the next academic year, i.e. 2027.
- Other Grants for Higher Education: Apart from this, to continue the higher education of the girls, a one-time grant of Rs. 50,000 will also be given. The previous amount is Rs.25,000 given by the former Government.
- Helpline Launched: To provide educational Assistance, legal aid help or any other emergency help, the dedicated helpline Number 181 will also be launched for the beneficiaries.
Eligibility For Girls
- Girls should belong to West Bengal permanently.
- While getting the benefits of the scheme, girls should be unmarried.
- The annual income of the girl’s family must be Rs.1.20 Lakhs per year.
- Age of the girl students is also between 13 to 18 years.
- You must be enrolled in class 8 to 12 or equivalent.
- Girls should be regular students of the school.
West Bengal One Time Higher Education Grant of Rs.50,000 Scheme For Girls
Like the Kanyashree scheme amount, there is also another scheme, i.e., One-time Higher Education Grant also be given to the girls to continue their higher education of Rs.25,000/-. As the present Government doubled the Kanyashree amount from 1K to 2K, similarly the amount of One-time Higher Education Gram from Rs.25,000 has also doubled to Rs. 50,000 now. To get this amount, you need to qualify for the following eligibility.
- Age must be 18 to 19 years.
- Girl should be unmarried.
- You must be enrolled in a higher education program, professional courses, etc.

- Copy of Aadhaar Card: The name on the Aadhaar Card is also the same as appeared in your Bank account Name and linked with the account.
- Birth Certificate: To get the age record, or you can also submit other proof of age.
- Income proof: Need to provide the family income certificate.
- Educational Enrolment: Your enrolment Scheme for the educational program is also required, which is verified by the head of the institution.

Application Process For West Bengal Kanyaratna Scheme?
The application form remains official if no new announcement is made by the government. Because the scheme is going to provide the double amount from the next new academic year.
- Collect the form from your Institute according to your eligibility, like if you want an Annual Scholarship amount of Rs.2,000 or a One-Time Higher Education Grant Form.
- Now fill out this Form by putting all the correct information about the applicant according to the documents.
- If you don’t have a bank account in your Name, then first visit the Bank and open one, because the financial aid in this scheme is given directly in your account.
- Then fill the Savings Bank account number in the Application Form and also submit all the relevant documents with the form.
- Submit your application form with documents to the office and get a receipt for the same.
- Verification is done as per your documents, and then the amount is given to you.
