This scheme is also known as the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme, and it was started by replacing the previous TMC government’s Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme. While replacing this scheme, the financial support amount is also doubled from 1500 rupees to 3000 rupees monthly. Some reputable news websites also confirm this news. New CM of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, gave an order to the government officials to start preparation for this scheme.

This is a very good initiative started by the West Bengal government in which eligible women will get a monthly financial assistance of 3000 Rupees. Women who belong to the economically weaker section and low-income groups take advantage of this scheme. The Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Department will implement this scheme. Initially, the scheme was announced in the BJP Manifesto before the West Bengal election 2026. Now elections are over, and the result has come in favour of the BJP government. At the time of the Mamata Banerjee Government, this scheme was known as the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme. That scheme benefits women who belong to schedule cast and schedule tribe Community will get 1700 rupees monthly, and the remaining other categories of women will get 1500 rupees monthly. A woman who is already taking the benefit of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme is now taking the same benefit in the Matrishakti Bharosa Card Scheme. Beneficiaries will get this financial support of 3000 rupees monthly, given by the West Bengal government directly into their bank account. Females name remove in the SIR, and their name is not in the West Bengal voter list, are not eligible for this scheme. Firstly, they have to verify their identity and add their name to the new Voter List.

The scheme is going to be implemented from the 1st of June 2026 all over West Bengal. BJP West Bengal’s official Twitter handle gives this confirmation that CM Suvendu Adhikari will hold a meeting with all MLAs, and the District Magistrate has directed the official to start Annapurna Magistrates from 1st of June 2026. So the complete eligibility criteria list will be released after the official notification.

- The online and offline application process for Matrishakti Bharosa Card will start after the official notification. When this scheme officially starts on the first of June 2026, the registration and application process will be explained.

- Both online and offline modes are available for registration.
